Implementation of a large scale solar thermal district application to provide for space heating and hot water needs of the Princess Nora University for Women in Saudi Arabia (PNUW). The University Campus has to supply 40.000 students, 13 faculties, lecturers and university personnel, dormitories, research facilities and a gymnasium.
Bio-oil production connected to existing DH and CHP
Bio-oil production in city of Joensuu is new type of trigeneration concept that is added to existing district heating and CHP. It is a great example of expansion of district energy business to new markets and areas beyond traditional district energy scheme. Bio-oil production create another way to utilize and capitalize local biomass that otherwise would be unused.
